From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.
